Is this the correct file?

I guess that you already know this, but just in case. In page 7 of "Getting Started with Vivado"the actual link is:

https://github.com/Digilent/digilent-xdc

What you have in the tutorial, is has /archive/master.zip added to ti.  I only  got as far as shown in the link above and downloaded

Zybo-Z7 master.xdc.

I am assuming this is the correct file.

If I am wrong please correct me.

The only question is what type of file is it? In the "Getting Started with Vivado" it is called  zip file. I could not open it with 7zip. I selected it and checked properties and that was of little help.

So what type of file is it? How do I open it?

It's just a text file.  Feel free to open it up in your favorite editor, make a back up copy and then edit it (You'll need to for most projects ...)
