jpeyron
Hi @anurag, I was under the impression that you would be able to do this as long as you also had a PHY incorporated into your external circuit as well. I reached out to our design Engineer to confirm my thoughts. They responded as such "It may be possible to connect an MII PHY 10/100 Mbps, 25 MHz clock) and Ethernet connector via the DIP pins. I think RMII, GMII, and RGMII may be out of the question as they require clock rates of 50 MHz, 125 MHz, and 125MHz. I’m not even 100% positive that an MII PHY will work reliably. I think their best chance at getting anything to work will be to design a carrier PCB containing the PHY that has through holes that are spaced appropriately for the CMOD DIP connector so that the CMOD can be directly soldered to it. I haven’t checked to see how large the Ethernet MAC logic is. My guess is that only the 35T variant of the Cmod will be large enough to run any substantial project.". I hope this helps! cheers, Jon
