Amani
Hi all, I would like to buy Analog Discovery 2 for some test automation tasks. I need I/O interface to industrial standard levels: DI/O: 24V AI/O: 0-10V/ 0-20mA Is there some add on module or do you have some suggestions how to build my own? Thanks a lot! Kind regards, Stephan
JColvin
Hi @Amani, I apologize for the long delay. According to the reference manual of the Analog Discovery 2 (link), the digital i/o are 5V tolerant with overvoltage protection to +/- 20V, so it won't meet the 24V standard that you cite. The analog inputs are generally recommended to keep it within +/- 25V, with the output limited to +/-5V with differential current output between 1mA and 4mA. When using an external power supply, the power supplies on the AD2 can go from -5V to 0V and 0V to +5V (separate channels for positive and negative supplies) with up to 2.1W per channel. So, the Analog Discovery 2 may not be suited for the particular applications you have in mind. I'm not aware of any add-on that will enhance the AD2 to meet your specifications that is only strictly an add-on and not a unit that accomplishes your goals on its own. Thanks, JColvin
