pmodmic3 Doesn't Turn On

jeffib

Question

I'm trying to use a pmodmic3 with a Udoo Neo board. I'm probably just being a block head about something but it doesn't seem to power on. The led's don't come on and the host system doesn't recognize the device. I can see 3.3 volts at the power and ground pins so I know it's getting power. What am I missing? Do I have to do something to activate it?

Thanks!

@jeffib,

Have you done anything to tell your Linux system that it has a Pmod MIC3 connected to it?

Unlike many other interface standards (USB, PCIe, etc.), the Pmod standard does not include self discovery.  As a result, just plugging the device in will be only your first step in your journey.  You've got some other configurations to do to set it up if you want to use this.
