Genesys flash configuration

Hi,

I have a Genesys board with Virtex 5 FPGA on it. I have problems configuring the flash ROM and I need help, please.

Just to mention that configuring the FPGA straight is successfully done, but I would like to operate it from the flash.

The operation for flash configuration starts correctly. I mean, I can erase the flash and I see on the display the message "Erasing Flash Passed". When I start programming the flash (using 007-Genesys-1.bit file) on the computer everything looks OK. I see:

"Configuring with memory manager..

Flash configuration successful.

Toggle board power to load from flash"

Meantime on the display, I see:

"Entering Send Mode"

and then only "S_"

Switching the power after that, has no effect. I tried in both cases BPI UP or BPI DOWN, corresponding with the screen indication, but no difference.

I missed something in the procedure ? Can I check something else on the board?

Unfortunately we do not have a tutorial for this board but we do have a thread that has a project at the end of the thread that should help Here.

I do have open sources S/W and RTL that can be used to configure a flash, if that's of any interest to you.

The RTL can be found on OpenCores, you can find an example that uses it for the S6 here.
