diligent to spartan6 logic data grab via JTAG

DL_DOD

Question

Hi,

I've got a spartan6 board and I want to read circuit data out the JTAG TDO port.

Can one of the digilent USB cables help me do this?  My PC is running windows7

and I have a USB platform cable connection to the test board.

Does adept have commands like "get_pin" that can grab circuit data?

I have the bscan_spartan6 primitive instantiated.

Hi DL_DOD,

We're still getting the forum off its feet, it's in somewhat of a "Beta" state right now. If you bear with us awhile you'll see our response times drop  :).

Anyways, the answer to your question is yes: you can manually access the TDI, TDO, TMS, and TCK lines using the Adept SDK libraries and our JTAG programming cables. Specifically, I would recommend the JTAG-HS2 (http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?NavPath=2,395,1052&Prod=JTAG-HS2). Before you decide to buy, you should peruse the API documentation for the Adept SDK, available here: http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?NavPath=2,66,828&Prod=ADEPT2. Just download the version of Adept SDK for your OS, and the documentation is included. Specifically, you will need to look into the DMGR and DJTG libraries.

I've had some experience working with BSCAN primitives, post if you have any questions and I might be able to help out.
