Digilent Zybo Zynq-7000 -no valid target-

Hi,

Last year I bought a zybo from digilent, I tried some workshops from XU and everything was working fine. A few days ago I restarted the workshops, I completed a few but yesterday I got the following message from the hardware server:

connect_hw_server
INFO: [Labtools 27-2285] Connecting to hw_server url TCP:localhost:3121
open_hw_target
ERROR: [Labtoolstcl 44-469] There is no current hw_target.
disconnect_hw_server localhost:3121

When the message appeared I was using Vivado 2016.4, I uninstalled it and installed Vivado 2016.3 but I got the same result. I tried a clean install of Windows 10 with Vivado 2016.2 (this was the first version I used) and didn't work. Finally I borrowed a zybo from a friend and worked just fine.

Is my zybo dead???

Hi @palafox,

I wouldn't say your board is dead since you still have power. Can you please tell me how does your Zybo enumerate in device manager? Also, have you tried to reinstall the cable drivers? https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/59128.html

I followed the steps to reinstall the cable drivers but still my zybo is not recognized by the hardware server.

In the device manager when I turn on my zybo there appear USB Serial Ports (COM3 and COM4) , and USB Serial Converter (A and B ).

Those topics don't show how to solve it, but is related to the ftdi chip.

Could you help me restore the FT2232 EEPROM?

Hi @palafox,

Sorry, I didn't see your answer. Indeed it seems to be a problem with the FTDI and I'll help you fix it. Before that, you you happen to have another Digilent board to test on your computer. I want to make sure that the issue is definitely not related to the cable drivers.

We'll discuss more in private about the FTDI.

Yes, I connected another zybo and was recognized by the hardware server.
