connections for Arty and ws2812 led strip

hib

Question

In the getting started with arty

https://reference.digilentinc.com/learn/programmable-logic/tutorials/arty-base-system-design/start

it states the requirement for Hardware as:

Programmable RGB LEDs (WS2812, Neopixels)- Data-in Signal wire connected to ARTY's JB1

I do not have the strip yet, but I inspected the picture on the digilent site. http://store.digilentinc.com/ws2812-addressable-led-1m-waterproof-strip/ .     There is no documentation on how to connect the strip with its 6 pin connector and 2 loose wires to the arty .  there is no indication how to connect a 6 pin connector on the lede strip to a  10 pin JB1 connector.

Can someone help set up this "getting started" project?

Thanks for the article but it is very unclear what pin is what.   I assume the red is 5v and black is ground but I can't tell where the data pin goes. Is it the white wire?  Isn't there a clear wiring diagram for this project?

Hi Hib,

Here is another Instructable that has better detailed pictures as well as a description of how to wire the LED's to the Arty. It shows the power(3v3) ,gnd and the data line towards the end of the Instructable. I also attached an ilistration of the arduino/chipkit shield connector that is being used in the Instructable. The Instructable uses 3v3, gnd and IO0 which is on the bottom right. If you look at the XDC of the Arty it is pin V15.
