CMOD A7 No Valid Target error

Hi,

I'm having trouble connecting the CMOD A7 board through the Hardware Manager. When I click on Open Target - Local server, I get the "No valid Target" error message. I reinstalled Vivado 2016 and earlier version a couple of times with no help. I checked the cable driver log(listed below), it seems the drivers were installed correctly. The USB port shows up in Device manager. I'm using Win7 64 bit OS. Please help.

A note - after seeing a separate thread, where it was mentioned that the USB should not show up in Device manager as COM ports, I gave it a try. It did not make a difference. Although that thread is about a different board.

It appears my installed is an earlier version. Will this make a difference?

I have also since tried the USB-UART port and I can see communication through PUTTY. There is probably built-in test program for the ram as I can see the screen prints saying RAM tests passed.

Hi Peter,

Having the older usb drivers will cause problems. I would update them the the newest version. Let us know the outcome.

Hi peter,

Here is a link about the issues you are having and potential fixes. Looking at other posts about similar issues it sounds like its issues with the cable drivers. Here is information on how to install from the tcl console of vivado without doing a full re-install.
