How to access SD card in bare metal application at Zybo?

Question

Hello,

How can I communicate with the SD card in bare metal application at Zybo board<

There are some free FAT32/16 filesystem stacks, but how to make them work with Zybo HW?

Is there any reference solution for file read/write?

According to the Zynq Technical Reference Manual (document ug585), the SD controller is compatible with SD Host Controller Specification 2.0. If you can find any bare metal SDHC driver, you should be able to use it. Raspberry PI has a SDHC-compatible controller, so there may be a bare metal driver available for it.

What is the motivation for using bare metal? Wouldn't it be easier to use Linux?
