PMOD AD1 Critical Warning

Ryan_98

Question

I am trying to use the AD1 Pmod with my ARTY Z7-20 board on Vivado 2021.1

This is the block design, and I am getting the following critical warnings:

.

.

.

[Common 17-69] Command failed: BOARD_PART_PIN cannot be assigned to more than one port ["c:/Users/rbang/Documents/GitHub/Cognify_DAQ/FPGA/project_5/project_5.gen/sources_1/bd/design_1/ip/design_1_PmodAD1_0_0/design_1_PmodAD1_0_0_board.xdc":3]

[Netlist 29-160] Cannot set property 'BOARD_PIN', because the property does not exist for objects of type 'pin'. ["c:/Users/rbang/Documents/GitHub/Cognify_DAQ/FPGA/project_5/project_5.gen/sources_1/bd/design_1/ip/design_1_PmodAD1_0_0/design_1_PmodAD1_0_0_board.xdc":3]

.

.

.

What is the cause of this issue, and how can I fix it?

Hi @Ryan_98,

The issue is with the Pmod IPs themselves; the structure/implementation that they used no longer works as intended in newer versions of Vivado, as you experienced. We have not gotten to resolve this as of yet (something about lack of time and resources to restructure 50+ IPs) for the newer of versions of Vivado.

The Pmod IPs will work as intended in 2019.1 and earlier versions of Vivado though.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
JColvin
