The MT25 is an *almost* completely form-fit-function drop in replacement, but they are not actually identical and it turned out my code was the corner case that experienced different behavior from each. We ordered these modules thinking we could troubleshoot the old chips, but received the new MT25Q despite the documentation.
Digilent, please update your documentation to specify the real flash part shipped with these SF3 modules!!
