moha
I have searched a little and understood that either i can use Script or Python, is this right? RS485 and RS232 has two differential lines, is it better to start with I2C or UART example? I would appreciate help figuring out the steps to do this if it is doable. 0 JColvin
Hi @moha, I would probably start with UART since it already has the option to interpret RS232 signals. These other forum threads may be of interest to you as well: Thanks, JColvin
0 moha
Hi @JColvin and thank you for the reply! I am a little bit confused and don't know where to start. AD2 and WFs are great and powerful tools. I have red through the posts you mentioned, from what i understood that i can use Protocol feature to decode RS485 signals? Does not it make more sense to use Logic Analyzer to do that? Could you please provide some examples on how to make a custom decoder for RS485? 0 JColvin
Hi @moha, I believe both could be used, though not simultaneously since they use the same hardware resources on the AD2. In the Logic Analyzer itself, under the green + dropdown, there is a custom option where you can create your own decoder and you can use the UART example as a some groundwork for it.
