Using MIG on Nexys4DDR board

Sven K

Question

I am trying to use MIG to generate an interface for DDR memory on the Nexys4DDR board.

I seems like I can´t get the system clock connected to the interface.

When I run MIG I am supposed to assign sys_clk to a pin but non of these pins are the system clock pin that is being used in the XCF file for the board that Digilent have supplied. How do I connect the system clock to one of the pins that are possible to choose in MIG?

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Sven

Hi @Sven K,

I apologize for the delay.

If you are using the block design flow, you would normally use an output from a clocking wizard to as the source to conenct to the sys_clk_i on the MIG. I don't know what version of the Xilinx tools you are using, but this process is described in more detail in the "Adding a DDR Interface" dropdown in the "Add a Microblaze Processor to a Block Design" dropdown in this guide.

Let me know if you have any questions about this or if I misunderstood your question.

Thanks,
JColvin
