Spartan 3 programming cable

A customer on our website asked the following question.

I bought from your distributor in Germany, Trenz Electronic a Spartan 3 demo board in August 2012:

A few days ago I got around to trying it out for the first time. The board shipped without the JTAG/Parallel port programming cable.

As none of the computers I use these days have got a parallel port, I was wondering if the board is compatible with a JTAG/USB cable and if you could recommend one.

I have asked some of our applications engineers for what the appropriate cable would be so I do not recommend an incompatible cable; they will get back to you here on the forum.

You can try http://store.digilentinc.com/jtag-usb-cable/ It should work with the Xilinx ISE Impact. 

It looks like people try to use the USB to Parallel cable but got problem. So, I don't recommend you to take this solution.
