Analog Discovery 2 Digital Pins

Ken.jones

Question

Can the Digital pins of the Analog Discovery 2 be configured with some pins being Digital IO and some pins being Digital Out and both configured and operated independently?  I am having interaction between the Digital Out and the Digital IO and may be doing something wrong.

Thank you

Hi @Ken.jones,

I have moved your question to a more appropriate section of the forum.

I may be misunderstanding what you are asking, but you can have some of the digital pins be inputs and some be outputs and control them independently with the Logic Analyzer tool and the Patterns tool, respectively. Is this what you are asking about?

Thanks,
JColvin

Hi @Ken.jones

The digital lines of the AD2 are IOs.
The ones used to output will drive the line and can be used as input at the same. This is useful for OD, OS, TS signals.
The ones used only as inputs, or Z stage in OD OS TS modes, are in high impedance and can be driven by external circuit.
When a line it is not driven at all, it will be floating and it can capture radiation through the wire specially from nearby wires.
