WaveForms won't run under Mac OS 10.15.7

I just downloaded and installed WaveForms on a Mac with OS 10.15.7.  When I launched the app I received a security alert (attached) that tells me: "WaveForms can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information." Rebooting the computer did not resolve the problem.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

The software is signed with apple certificate.
Make sure the "identified developers" are checked in "System Preferences' Security and Privacy" or "Open anyway"
or right click (double tap) and Open...
