Mac "No device detected" analog discovery2 waveforms

I have been attempting to get the Analog discovery 2 to work on my iMac for several years now   The device workouts fine on my MacBook pro   Both MAC's are using the same macOS of 10.15.5.  I have gone threw countless updates on the macs.  I have tried the latest software for waveforms both old and new . I have removed the waveforms and reinstalled more times then I care to count .  I have used the ports for other  devices and have no problems that way  .  

What am I missing   is there a driver that is needed or not needed

After doing some digging and comparing the iMac and the MacBook pro I fund an FTDI driver in extensions folder on the iMac.  I removed this file and then reset the computer with the analog discovery 2 disconnected.  Turned the computer back on and then connected the discovery 2 and started the waveforms software.  Finely after to many years the  device is being seen and is is working.

The newer WF software should warn you to install or remove the driver, depending on MacOS version.

@bill v, Echo thanks! Your tip solved the problem that also had me stumped under macOS 13.2.1, an FTDI kernel extension from some other source/appication.
