2020.1 Vivado library

nigelm

Question

Hi, I'm relatively new to using Vivado with the Digilent boards. I have an Arty Z7-20 and started using it with Vivado 2019.1.

I want to move on to Vivado 2020.1. When I originally installed 2019.1 I downloaded the Digilent vivado-library-v2019.1 from here https://github.com/Digilent/vivado-library/releases

There does not seem to be a library v2020.1, v2019.1 seems to be the latest. Can I use library v2019.1 with Vivado 2020.1 or is there another way to achieve this?

Thanks for your help!

Hi @nigelm,

We are in the process of updating our material for Vivado 2020.1; I believe the materials for the Pmod IP library has been updated and is available here: https://github.com/Digilent/vivado-library/tree/feature/pmod_update.

In terms of the specifically updating examples, a number of projects may be able to updated on their own by opening the project in 2020.1 and then running through the Reports->Report IP Status within Vivado and then upgrading those IPs (via the button of the same name at the bottom of the Vivado). If the project includes a Digilent made IP, we may need to update it ourselves if it not readily compatible with the latest version of Vivado.

Thanks,
JColvin

Thank you very much for the reply. I'm particularly glad the Pmod library has been updated. I'll keep an eye on the main vivado-library releases for the full 2020.1
