Arty A7 35T gpio demo not working out of box

Hi all,

I purchased A7 35T boards for a couple of my remote colleagues.   For one of them, the board powers on, but the expected GPIO demo is not working.  He has "rev e".

Are some boards shipped without the demo?   Or does this likely indicate a problem with the board?  Edit: Or user error?

I'll have him try loading a known good bitstream to see if that works.   But I thought it worthwhile to ask in parallel whether the demo should be expected on all boards, or not.

Hi @tcal-x,

All of the boards should have the out-of-box demo working. One thing to check would be is if JP1 jumper is set with the shorting block to enabled the SPI flash mode which is where the out-of-box demo would be stored.

Otherwise, a known working bitstream would be the best way to test; one such project is available on our GitHub (and I believe it may be the out of box demo, I don't recall for certain) here: https://github.com/Digilent/Arty-A7-35-GPIO.
