Complex Triggering, NTSC Video?

TheStumbler

Question

From time to time I have to work with old-fashioned analog video signals.  Many scopes I've used in the past have a built-in complex triggering mode for video, which allows you to trigger on the frame, field number, or a specific line number.  My projects have worked with CC and other data in the VBI, so being able to trigger on "line 21, field 1" is quite useful.

Is such triggering possible on the Analog Discovery 2 using Waveforms? Poking around in the menu didn't reveal any complex triggering modes, but maybe I missed it.

Good idea. The feature I was hoping to replace did all this on one analog input video signal. However, in the circuits I’m currently probing, I have access to H and V sync separately so this might work. I’ll try it out. As a backup, I still have an old boat anchor Tektronix 1730 video waveform analyzer stored on a high bookshelf.
