Analog Discovery 2 - Two yellow colors on waveform

Nikosant03

Question

Hi everyone,

I am new with Analog Discovery 2. I probe the output of a buck converter to measure the ripple voltage. I can see the normal yellow that is the output waveform and also I see a "light" yellow waveform (see the attachment) where I cannot understand what is that..

Could someone explain me what is this "light" yellow waveform ?

Thanks in advance

Nick

Hi @Nikosant03,

If you are looking for specific harmonics, I would recommend using the network analyzer tool that is part of the WaveForms software.

Otherwise, the noise band are glitches or higher frequency noise than the current sampling rate. If you wanted to see more details about what is being picked up, you would need to reduce the time base that is currently being used to so that you have more resolution on your signal.

If you do not want to see the noise or are not concerned about it, you can eliminate the noise by clicking on the gear icon next to the Channel 1 box and unchecking the noise box. This is shown more specifically in this post here:

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
JColvin
