Cris
Zybo Z7-20 board: the heat sink, is it removable?
Ana-Maria Balas
Hello @Cris, That heat sink is not meant to be removed. If you remove it, you are doing it on your own risk and also you void the warranty. It can be removed with a gun with hot air to melt the adhesive, but this operation must be very carefully done so that you don't overheat the FPGA. Or maybe with a cutter but also you must be very careful not damage the FPGA and then use a double sided adhesive thermal conductive tape in case you want to glue it again. Cris
I was asking if anyone actually removed the sink. Because if it's glued with epoxy the hot air gun may not work. Did I mention I hate glued sinks?
Ana-Maria Balas
It is not epoxy, it is thermal conductive adhesive. We succeeded to remove it with both, the hot air gun and the cutter.
