Cmod S7 and Vivado 2019.2 (board.xml error)

Esa Jaatinen

Question

Hi

I'm trying to load the example projects of the Cmod S7 board with Vivado 2019.2, and I get this error:
[Board 49-4] Problem parsing board_part file - C:/Xilinx/Vivado/2019.2/data/boards/board_files/cmod7/board.xml, Invalid xml file C:/Xilinx/Vivado/2019.2/data/boards/board_files/cmod7/board.xml: equal sign expected

Somewhere I read, that the board.xml files are not compatible between Vivado versions.

So, do I have to install Vivado 2018.2 or is it possible make the examples work in 2019.2 somehow?

Kind regards,
Esa

Hi @Esa Jaatinen,

I apologize for the delay.

Depending on which project you are intending to use, examples can be readily "upgraded" to the latest version of Vivado, depending if all of their IPs have upgrades available.

The board files do not change between versions of Vivado though; did you install the Digilent board files from our GitHub? I ask because the path name that was quoted in the error does not match how our board files are set up (specifically, the "cmod7" part).

Thanks,
JColvin
