Network Analyzer measurement question

KD8CGH

Question

I'm trying to measure loss in RF transformers. I started with a commercial 1:1 from 1 to 10 MHz. At lower frequencies there is some small loss as expected. However, above 2.2 MHz C2 shows a gain. Either something is  incorrect, or I've developed a source of infinite power and I'll become rich and famous. Am I destined to learn something or become rich and famous?

I tried some other things and it looks like the BNC to wire connection is a problem. I first tested a thru using all BNC connectors and got a C2 that is flat 0 to within .02 db from 1 MHz to 25 MHz. I then tried a thru that was made of two BNC to binding posts connectors directly wired together with short (5cm) wires. Now the result appears to be  back to generating energy at higher frequencies.
