ARTY A7 SPI Interface on J6 Not Working

The SPI interface/connector at location J6 does not appear to work.  It works if I put the device/driver in loop back.  I've put the pins on an oscilloscope and I don't see and signals.   I've double checked to FPGA pin assignments with the schematic of the ARTY A7 board too.  Is there a configuration step I'm missing?

Hi @Johnnie White,

Are you using a shield that is placed on the top of the Arty A7 or using an IP core for the SPI functionality? I did a simple check with a Verilog project, (verilog file attached below) and it successfully enabled a LED I attached to the pins.

I'm using the 6 pin SPI connector at the top of the ARTY A7 and using the Vivado AXI Quad SPI IP core.

The connector is labeled #12 in the attached image.

   I figured it out.  You have to specify XSpi_SetSlaveSelect() before calling XSpi_Transfer().
