Hi @Paul Chang,

There are a couple of issues that this could be. The easiest things to check would be to use a different microUSB cable and/or a different USB port on your computer.

Otherwise, the next step would be to check that you have the latest version of the FTDI driver. For a Windows OS, this can be done by going into the Device Manager, opening up the Universal Serial Bus controllers section, right-clicking the USB Serial Converter and going to the driver tab. The latest driver version is 2.12.28.0 for Windows and can be found on the FTDI website here: https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm.

If that is updated, uninstalling and then reinstalling the driver would be a good option to try next.

Thanks,
JColvin

I have tried the FTDI driver but it still doesn’t work. Neither for uninstall / reinstall driver.

I also have some experiment that point out the issue caused by this JTAG-SMT2 module:

1.      Get one pcs FT232H Development Module and rework it to our M/B, it works well, no matter read it from external PC or our M/B PCH.

2.      Remove EEPROM of on FT232H Development Module, the external PC can recognize FT232 chip without any problem.

3.      Tried to measure 3.3V, 2.5V power, 12MHz x’tal and Reset signal, all looks good.

4.      Remove the 3.3V power that provide from our M/B to FT232H Development Module, we can reproduce the same symptom on T232H Development Module.

Currently all of those check result are indicate there is something wrong on JTAG-SMT2 module.

Please help on this.

Thanks,

Neil
