Philip Kim Posted July 1, 2019 Share Posted July 1, 2019 Hello While I was working on ZedBoard with USB-JTAG, the USB port suddenly broke apart. When I contact the USB port pins with the board pins, I can still do stuff, but I want this port to be fixed to the board. So I requested RMA to my seller but she told me that the warranty period is over and guided me to post a question in this forum. I bought the board on Oct 05, 2018. zygot Posted July 1, 2019 Share Posted July 1, 2019 I've posted this advice before to the Digilent forums but who knows where it is? One of the first things to do before using a new FPGA board is to look for any USB connectors without those thru-hole strain relief tabs. If you have them put a glob of epoxy around the connector to provide some level of mechanical strain relief. Those cheap SMT connectors are guaranteed to break and if they are how you configure your board you will be in a world of trouble. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
