fpga kit

NITISH KUMAR

Question

Sir i am using fpga kit of DIGILENT ATLYS SPARTAN -6,  is this can be program by using ISE DESIGN SUIT?

Is this fpga has analog to digital pin  and digital to analog pin?

is this can be used for controlling of power switches like MOSFET ,IGBT?

Hi @NITISH KUMAR,

The Atlys board is programmed by ISE iMPACT or Adept 2 as shown in the Atlys's reference manual here.

The Atlys does not have an on-board user accessible ADC or DAC. We do offer ADC and DAC Pmods here that are compatible with the Atlys as well as our new Artix-7, Spartan-7 and Zynq development boards here.

best regards,

Jon

"yes but" Electronics 101 applies (look at the data sheet of your component: E.g. how much Vds remains with Vgs=3.3 V given the switched current?)

You might want to use some intermediate driver circuit for the simple reason of protecting the FPGA against magic-smoke incidents in the power side. For e.g. a traffic light demo, a 10k series resistor to the gate will prevent the worst but this wrecks the switching speed for e.g. PWM.
