Question

Hello,

I could not find a value for typical or max current @3.3Vdc input for the JTAG-SMT3-NC module.  I specifically would like to power it from USB 5Vdc via a DC/DC converter if possible.  I see that the FT2232HQ uses a max of 150mA.

Thanks

Thanks,

I do see that the smt3 uses the FT2232HQ (from image). This is a 3.3V part, unlike the the post mentioned.  I'd prefer a spec on Idc before designing it in.

Hi @johnnymopo,

I reached out to one of our design engineers about this thread. They responded that "You can power the JTAG-SMT3-NC from USB if you use a regulator to step it down to 3.3V. The current consumption may be a little higher when using both channels… so maybe budget 150-200mA for VDD and 35-40mA for VREF."

best regards,

Jon
