Marco
Hello. I'm finish my course and I have to do a project on BASYS 3 to control a motor by PWM? I've never worked with BASYS, can anyone help me? Sergiu
Hello, Have you ever worked with FPGA boards or is the first time? Maybe you should start with these tutorials: https://reference.digilentinc.com/basys3:gsg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_GxkslqbcU You can find various examples of PWM generators on the internet. First of all, it depends on the motor and the circuit which will receive the PWM signal. Here is an example: https://eewiki.net/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=20939345 Sergiu
hamster
Hi Marco you can find a very basic example of the logic for PWM control here: http://hamsterworks.co.nz/mediawiki/index.php/XADC_Fan_PWM - it controls the speed of the fan on the Genesys2 board. Marco
Sir Hamster Where can I run this program? I tried to run the program in vivado but gives me errors .
JColvin
Hi Marco, What sort of errors are you getting? Is it complaining about temp_k? Also, you will need to set up your XDC file for the Basys 3. If you're not sure on how PWM works, I would definitely recommend reading through this forum thread here where one of our forum members walks through how PWM works. Let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks, JColvin
NealXu
Hi..as per my knowledge Digilent Basy is an entry-level FPGA board designed exclusively for the Vivado Design Suite, featuring Xilinx Artix 7-FPGA architecture. The board consists of complete ready-to-use hardware, a large collection of on-board I/O devices, all required FPGA support circuits, and a free version of development tools and at a student level price point. It is well suited for digital design. circuit card assembly
