Basys3 is not being recognized by Vivado Hardware manager

Charlie214

Question

Hello,

My Basys 3 is not being recognized by Vivado's Hardware manager. I followed another thread to ensure that I have Vivado correctly installed. Only my personal board is not working. When I check out one from my university there are no issues.

I am connecting via micro USB to my laptop. When it is powered on a yellow light labeled "BUSY" briefly turns on. Other than that brief flash, the red power LED is the only thing that is on.

Any ideas on how to get this working would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Charlie214,

To clarify,  your personal Basys 3 is not being recognized by Vivado Hardware but another Basys 3 is being recognized by  the same  PC?

1) Are you using the same set up?  I.E. USB cable , power setting, mode setting when connecting the different Basys 3 boards?

           a) What is your specific set up? I.E. OS on PC, power(usb or external) , mode setting(JP1)

2) Please attach a screen shot of your

           a) device manager( if using windows)

          b) $ lsusb , $ dmesg, $ usb-devices (if using Linux)

3) Please download Adept 2 here

          a) Please attach a screen shot of the Adept 2 text output with the non connecting Basys 3.

thank you,

Jon
