analog discovery Analog Discovery Stopped Working

Hello,

I have a first generation Analog Discovery, S/N 210244626692. It recently stopped communicating with my computer. I have tried different USB ports, different cables, and tried a classmate's AD on my computer. The classmate's AD was recognized by Waveforms, but mine was not. Nothing shows up in the Device Manager when my AD is plugged in.

HI @stracky,

I would suggest to reprogram the EEPROM on the Analog Discovery using WaveForms 2015.. I have attached a screen shot of where to do this.  Click on setting->device manager->my device is not listed.

The Device Fix tool shows "No device found" when I click "Find Devices".

Does any device show up in Windows Device Manager when you connect it?
It should appear as “USB Serial Converter”:

Does any device show up in Windows Device Manager when you connect the unit?
Normally it should be "USB Serial Converter" but it could be 'unknown device'

Usually the problem is with the USB cable or computer plug.
Try using the original cable and plug.

Nope, tried with several different cables also and no difference. Thinking the FTDI chip has somehow bricked itself possibly?

The USB controller should not brick.
You could inspect the USB plug, see if the internal contact plate or the plug itself got loose.
