USB to JTAG - Send/Get JTAG bit stream

Question

Im searching for a USB to JTAG controller/debugger (for reading and writing JTAG instructions ) in order to read and write internal registers in our design,

My motivation is to connect to our IC (NOT FPGA  is a real chip which contains ARM CPU and has a JTAG interface integrated) via 4 GP IO’s.

I have checked your web site and found the below items suitable:

1-     JTAG-USB Cable

2-     JTAG-SMT2: Surface-mount

are they suitable?

Does the ADEPT SW have the ability to run a bit stream?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Ehud Eliav,

In general, I think the JTAG SMT2 will work where as the JTAG-USB does not support Zynq based boards; you can view Zynq support and the native support from Xilinx on our page here, I don't know what chip you are using though. Adept can load bitstreams that have been previously generated, but it only has built-in support for a limited number of boards, mostly Digilent made boards as well as a few other Xilinx chips; if your chip is not recognized by Adept you would need to do some customization with Adept through Adept SDK which is available on the right hand side of the Adept Resource Center.
