Stuk
Hi, I'm considering buying one of these to play with but I was wondering which version is best: the one from Digilent, or the NI edition from National Instruments. What exactly is different between both? Thanks! Stuk
jpeyron
Hi @Stuk, The main physical different between the Digilent and NI edition of the AD2 is the case and packaging. The other difference is with the NI Edition you would have access to the NI Customer support (provided that you have a Standard Service Plan with them) which is a much larger team. cheers, Jon
jpeyron
Hi @Stuk, To give a little more clarity for the differences, NI provides support for NI Edition AD2 as part of their standard support plan (SSP). This is typically a paid support plan, but most universities professors and faculty have this support plan through their NI Academic Site License. This means that professors and faculty would get phone/email support from NI Applications Engineers. NI AEs will escalate issues to the product support engineer in R&D. If you are a student you would not have SSP and would be refereed to post questions with Digilent support . If you are an individual or internationally purchasing the AD2 I believe it will be much easier process getting the AD2 through the Digilent website VS through NI. thank you, Jon
JuanCar
Hi @attila Can you confirm that the Analog Discovery 2 (on DIgilent Website) and Analog Discovery 2 NI Edition (on National Instrulments Website) are the same equipment in terms of hardware/firmrware and there is only small differences in case and packaging? I would like to order one on National Instruments website. Thanks Juan Carlos
