export data to decode

Hi, I am trying to understand if we can export the captured analog oscilloscope data from the waveform SW(may be in excel file etc.,) to use it in python for further processing? 

is it possible?

Hello @Newbiee,

You can export data from waveforms by clicking on Export tab. The exported data it's in csv format and can be opened using Microsoft Excel or Open Office. Please check the attached image. Thank you.

I read that there are API's available too.. for python as well. But is it possible to use this API for a similar task as mentioned above?

(with the excel file I can use the data logged and process, if I need to process live data?)

I read its possible to give innputs with the python, but I am not sure if we can extract data from the device using the API.

I'm not so sure if it's possible in Waveforms to retrieve smaller pieces of data from whole data sets using API's. Or if it's possible to do something like that live. I will tag @attila in here, maybe he can give us some input.

For automated export you can use View/Logging. Here you can also use JavaScript for exporting data.

You can also use JavaScript for custom data processing inside the application under: View/Measurement add Custom, View/Logging/Custom, Script tool in WaveForms main windows. See the application Help and example codes in the above editors.

You can also use the WaveWorms SDK for custom application. See the analog in/out play/record trigger Python examples. You can also find many related topics on this forum.
