freetoair
I have a simple question, for a long time I use Spartan 3AN starter kit and now I need to program an FPGA located on a separate printed board, can i use the programmer who is on the development board or must buy a separate programmer ? JColvin
Hi freetoair, I have asked some our applications engineers about this; they will get back to you here on the forum. Thanks,JColvin
TommyK
Hi freetoair, I'm not 100% sure if this will work, but you could try using J28 on the Spartan-3AN starter board to program your other device. You'll want to connect TDO on the S3AN to the TDI on your other board, as well as the TDI on the S3AN to the TDO on the other board. The others should be connected to their corresponding pins. I've never tried this, but theoretically it should work. Let me know! Thanks, Tommy
freetoair
OK, thanks for the suggestion, I'll try, just do not know if SW4 should be in position RUN or SUSPEND? regards, Nenad
TommyK
I don't think it should matter unless you configured your 3AN to use suspend mode. I would just leave it in RUN mode.
