  1. Hello Digilent Community, I am working on a image processing project and was wondering if anyone had advice or could point me in the right direction. I have tried following some tutorials and example projects, but I am still trying to wrap my head around Xilinx Vivado and SDK. The project really shouldn't be very difficult, I think I am just missing some information or the best way to go about doing it. For the project I am using the Zybo z7-20 development board and want to save two images to an SD card. The two pictures are black and white frames from a video just seconds apart, so there is only slight change in the frames themselves. I want to compare the two frames and output either a black and white image of the change in pixels or a binary file of '0' being an unchanged pixel and '1' being a change in the pixel. MATLAB has the 'Computer Vision System Toolbox' 'Tracking Cars Using Foreground Detection' Simulink example that is similar to what I want to do on the Zybo z7-20 FPGA. The following figure show the original video (right) with blob detection (the green square) and the binary output image of the change in pixels in the foreground (left). I want to use the Zynq Processor and write C code to do the analysis, but I haven't found a clear way to access the SD card from the Xilinx SDK. The following figure is of my current Block Design with only the Zynq Processor as well as some GPIO to test. I am still researching and looking at examples to compare, but wanted to see if the community had any pointers or if someone has done this before. I am a college student and I have been really interested FPGA's and digital design for the past 6-9 months, but I have mainly written my own Verilog code and haven't worked with block design or running C code on any of my designs. Any comments or suggestions would be great. Thanks!
  2. Hello, I have the Zynq 7000 board (Z-7010). I'm trying to build a Vhdl Program that receives a Canbus Frame. I saw in the tutorial that There is a builtin Canbus Controller, where is the canbus Interface?should i use the standard interface? Is there a simple example of such a program? - I use the 2017.1 Vivado and the Z-7010 Board. Thanks.

    Zybo I2c Master

    Hi, I have the Zybo Zynq 7000 board (Z-7010). I also have a Ti Msp430G2 launchpad. I need the Zybo to be the Master I2c , send request data from the Ti Chip. In Zybo i'm Using the I2c_0 Built in controller on the ps, i've tried the following Examples with no success(test failed Everytime): xiicps_polled_master_example.c xiicps_slave_monitor_example.c then i tried to to troubleshoot the problem, i'v used the xiicps_polled_slave_example.c and on the Ti Chip i used the wire library, as I2c Master and a c program that Scans Addresses - this works Therefor all the connections and vivado config are fine. How can find a working Master Program for zybo?

    Zybo I2C

    Hi, I have the Zybo Zynq 7000 board (Z-7010). I want to receive data from Multiple Devices via I2C protocol. In the PS there are 2 I2C Controllers. The Steps i made so far: 1) In vivado i created the ip : Zynq7 processing system. 2) i'v enables the I2C 0 controller and routed it to Emio. at this point i need 2 pins: clock and data, but instead i have 6 pins: where should i connect the pins? after Exploring this issue online i saw another option : using the Axi_IIc ip, With the same problem:
  5. Hi, I have the Zynq 7000 board (Z-7010). I'm trying to build a Vhdl Program that sends and basic Ethernet Frame throw the RJ45 onboard interface. I'm trying the Intr_Dma example to learn how to use the controllers on the PS. My block design is simply one block of Zynq7 Processing system with eth0 and UART1 enabled Exported the hardware to SDK and imported the example of emacps "xemacps_example_intr_dma.c". Run the program will show the following message from UART: "Entering into main() Error setup phy loopback" Debugging the program and I found the problem is inside function EmacPsUtilEnterLoopback of xemacps_example_util.c This function is to set the PHY chip to loopback mode. However, This functions only works for Marvell and TI chip. according to this great blog, this should work: i'v tried troubleshooting this problem,i'v added the fallowing lines:(to the "EmacPsUtilEnterLoopback" function) printf("%d\n",PhyIdentity); printf("%d\n",PHY_ID_MARVELL); printf("%d\n",PHY_ID_TI); the output is: Entering into main() 28 321 8192 Error setup phy loopback Therefor the realtec phy has PhyIdentity of 28, marvell phy is 321 and Ti phy is 8192. i'v tried changing the following lines: if (PhyIdentity == 28) { printf("phy is Marvell\n"); Status = EmacPsUtilMarvellPhyLoopback(EmacPsInstancePtr, Speed, PhyAddr); } after it didnt work, i've tried this lines: if (PhyIdentity == 28) { printf("phy is TI\n"); Status = EmacPsUtilTiPhyLoopback(EmacPsInstancePtr, Speed, PhyAddr); Nothing works. where can i find the relevant code?   6. Hello, I have the Zynq 7000 board (Z-7010). I'm trying to build a Vhdl Program that sends and basic Ethernet Frame throw the RJ45 onboard interface. so far i'v constructed the Frame itself according to the Ethernet IEEE 802.3 standard, now i see there are Gmii and Rgmii Interface and a builtin Phy controller but i cant understand how to use them all. Is there a simple example of such a program? - I use the 2017.1 Vivado and the Z-7010 Board. Thanks.
  7. Hi, I just bought a Zybo FPGA Dev board from Digikey and tried to power it up using USB. But I cannot see any indication of whether the board is alive, i.e. LED (LD11) is not ON. The J7 is set for powering up via USB. I am quite new to this and would really appreciate some help. Thanks!
