Hello, I have been trying for a while to run this PCAM 5c demo example that is provided by Digilent on a Zybo z7-20 board: https://github.com/Digilent/Zybo-Z7-20-pcam-5c The demo uses Vivado 2018.2 version, however I have been trying to execute it on the 2019.1 version. I am very new to FPGA and VHDL. I followed all the steps mentioned in the demo perfectly and did not receive any error. Although, after opening the project in the 3rd step, a pop-up window informs that the project is of the older version and I checked the option of automatically upgrading the project to current version. After the project opens, there is another pop-up to Report IP, I tried both the options individually i.e. Report IP and Ignore. It did not give any error in any of the following steps. But, the screen displays just a moving colour pattern and I am not able to communicate to camera module via UART as suggested in the demo. To summarise, all the steps mentioned in the demo were performed but the camera module is not working. I am unable to see the UART communication channel. I also tried following the instructions to use digilent github demo projects: https://reference.digilentinc.com/learn/programmable-logic/tutorials/github-demos/start However, this uses the 2016.4 version. I used the SDK Handoff method and again faced the same problem. Kindly suggest possible solutions to make this demo work on 2019.1 version or tell me what have I been doing wrong. Thanks.

  3. Hello Digilent Community, I am working on a image processing project and was wondering if anyone had advice or could point me in the right direction. I have tried following some tutorials and example projects, but I am still trying to wrap my head around Xilinx Vivado and SDK. The project really shouldn't be very difficult, I think I am just missing some information or the best way to go about doing it. For the project I am using the Zybo z7-20 development board and want to save two images to an SD card. The two pictures are black and white frames from a video just seconds apart, so there is only slight change in the frames themselves. I want to compare the two frames and output either a black and white image of the change in pixels or a binary file of '0' being an unchanged pixel and '1' being a change in the pixel. MATLAB has the 'Computer Vision System Toolbox' 'Tracking Cars Using Foreground Detection' Simulink example that is similar to what I want to do on the Zybo z7-20 FPGA. The following figure show the original video (right) with blob detection (the green square) and the binary output image of the change in pixels in the foreground (left). I want to use the Zynq Processor and write C code to do the analysis, but I haven't found a clear way to access the SD card from the Xilinx SDK. The following figure is of my current Block Design with only the Zynq Processor as well as some GPIO to test. I am still researching and looking at examples to compare, but wanted to see if the community had any pointers or if someone has done this before. I am a college student and I have been really interested FPGA's and digital design for the past 6-9 months, but I have mainly written my own Verilog code and haven't worked with block design or running C code on any of my designs. Any comments or suggestions would be great. Thanks!
  4. Hello, I am using Zed board 7000. I want to do Image Processing or basic computation in Zed board on PL side using FPGA. I was a bit confused to start either with a Linux image(PetaLinux or Xillinux) or directly through the Vivado software. Is it possible to do any computation or Image Processing on the PL side using ARM processor only to interface the peripherals(I don't want the computation to be done on the ARM processor). Kindly provide any reference link or tutorial which can address my queries. Thanks in advance. ---Nikith--
  5. Hi, I've a requirement to interface a CMOS Image sensor(MT9P006) with Artix7 FPGA. I've to perform image processing including autofocus and interfacing with USB 3.0 peripheral controller IC. Is it possible with artix7??? If yes, then what are the tools (like vivado ISE etc) required and what will be the expected cost for those tools... Is there any free software alternatives for them??? Thank you...
