Notes and questions on impedance function Observations 1) Impedance function/capability not listed on the AD2 Data sheet 2) AD2 data sheet shows only one channel voltmeter "Single channel voltmeter (AC, DC, ±25V) Network analyzer – Bode, Nyquist, Nichols transfer diagrams of a circuit. Range: 1Hz to 10MHz" Questions 3) Online manual for the impedance function does not cover use with the BNC adapter "Selectable AC and DC coupling to oscilloscope probes Selectable 50-ohm or 0-ohm output impedance on arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) channels" 3a) Only DC coupling is shown in the Impedance application selection boxes , so the adapter jumpers should be set that way ? 3b) Should output impedance jumper be set to 50 ohm to match BNC cables, 0 ohms or does the compensation function make it irrelevant ? 4) There is a drop down menu in the application in Wavforms that I did not see explained in the online Impedance application manual "Element " with choices Auto, Inductance , Capacitance and "Model " with choices Series, Parallel. What are these functions ?
  2. Can someone please point me to a manual for the Protocol section of the Waveforms software? I would like to send an I2C command over a bus but I am getting an I2C bus error. Verify the signal pull-ups error. I do have the appropriate pullup resistor however. Also, it's not clear how the interface works. A manual would be useful. Thanks, Dave

  4. Hello. The electronics explorer is a wonderful instrument, no doubt, but there's something that needs to be adressed. I would say "the documentation is awful", but it would be a blatant lie, because there is no documentation (Forgive my cheekiness). For the last few days I´ve been learning how to use it by trial and error, looking at the 3 examples present on the website and figuring out more or less what's going on. There is no quick start guide, no reference manual and the closest to any documentation on how to use the board comes from the RealAnalog videos in which the board is used but some of us have no time to see. It would be great to have a decent-sized pdf with all the necessary information so some of us can munch it up in a couple of hours and power up the beast straight away to whatever proyects or assignments we're up to! Again, forgive my cheekiness and I hope this helps build a better and more consumer ready product.
