    Impact 13.2

I am running Impact 13.2 (Windows 64-bit). I have installed the Digilent plugins. When I try to initialize the JTAG chain, I get an error saying that the selected cable is being used by another application. There are no other cables attached to the laptop.
  2. Can Digilent JTAG-HS2 programming cable be used for debugging the software running on the ARCHS47D processor. ARCHS47D is present on Xilinx Virtex Ultrascale FPGA VCU108 platform,
  3. Hi everyone ! I'd like to use the JTAG-HS3 cable to work on a project which consists in testing several interconnections between devices on a board. I'm using DJTG and DMGR APIs and i'm connected via ssh to the computer which has the cable plugged on. My question is: How do i connect to the board with the DMGR API? I know that i have to use DmgrOpen() function but it requires a "device name", which i don't have. Thanks in advance ! Have a nice day !

    JTAG-HS3 vs JTAG-HS2

We wish to purchase a few more programming pods and would like to know if we should purchase the JTAG-HS3 or the JTAG-HS2. In the past we bought the JTAG-HS2. We are using an ARTIX-7 and a KINTEX-7. (On another project we use the ZYNQ-7000). When should I buy the JTAG-HS3 and when would I buy JTAG-HS2? What is the advantage of one over the other and what does one do that the other does not do?
  5. Hi, I am trying to program Spartan 6 FPGA(6SLX25FTG256) with Jtag HS2 in Ubuntu 14.04. I can see the device with command "sudo djtgcfg enum": Found 1 device(s) Device: JtagHs2 Product Name: Digilent JTAG-HS2 User Name: JtagHs2 Serial Number: 210249A143CA I can also detect the FPGA using command "sudo djtgcfg init -d JtagHs2": Initializing scan chain... Found Device ID: 24004093 Found 1 device(s): Device 0: XC6SLX ? But when I tried to program the FPGA, it always failed. I tried with .bit file first using the following command: sudo djtgcfg prog -d JtagHs2 -i 0 -f fpga_firmware.bit Then it gave the following error: "ERROR: failed to set programming file" I then suspected it might be permission issue of the fpga firmware. I then changed the permission for both .bit and .bin files: sudo chmod 777 fpga_firmware.bit sudo chmod 777 fpga_firmware.bin and then tried to program again. But it gave the same error--- "ERROR: failed to set programming file". I then tried to program with .bin file: sudo djtgcfg prog -d JtagHs2 -i 0 -f fpga_firmware.bin This time it seems it recognizes the file and start to program, but it fails and gives error like this: "Programming device. Do not touch your board. This may take a few minutes... ERROR: failed to program device with file fpga_firmware.bin" It seems that the Digilent Adept software I installed does not support Xilinx Spartan 6. Could anyone tell me what is wrong? Why it can not program Spartan 6? Thank you.
  6. Hello, My JTAG HS2 firmware accidentally erased while i was trying to program another FTDI device connected to the PC and the programmer is not detected anymore by Xilinx Impact. Please help me how to recover it?
  7. Hello, I currently use a JTAG-HS2 cable with my Zynq development board. What would be the advantage or disadvantage of switching to a JTAG-HS3 cable with (exclusive) regard to using it with Zynq devices (Through Vivado 2014.4 and SDK)? I found this comparison table : http://www.digilentinc.com/choosing.cfm I think the big difference towards Zynq is the PS_SRST support, however it's not clear to me what exactly this is? I can use the Zynq now with my HS-2 cable, put breakpoints, ... so I wonder what this extra feature might bring to the table. I guess the 'no support for 2-wire JTAG' and SPI' is not an issue with Zynq devices (?) best regards
