    Zybo External LED Control

    Hi all, New to the FPGA world as I was tasked a project to help familiarize myself with the programming and function of how FPGAs work. As you can all infer, I am in need of some help on a specific project that I am doing. I am using a ZYBO Zynq 7000 development board, and Vivado 2019.1. What I am trying to do is control an external sensor, or LED through some user interface. I have seen a lot of tutorials that use the on-board LEDs, and if you press a button, it displays that value in binary in a command terminal. My task that I was to do is be able to turn on and off an external LED connected to the ZYBO through the command terminal. It seems I can connect a simple circuit with a LED and a resistor to the PMOD pins that are power and ground. What the command terminal would let me do is then essentially cut power to that pin, therefore turning the LED off. Please let me know if this is probable, and/or how I should task to complete it.   3. I am a scientist who is frequently tasked to characterize instrumentation ( As opposed to calibrating to NIST standards.) I noted with interest on the OpenScope Kickstarter page: "monitor long-term (create an IoT device to capture, calculate, and log readings over many hours or days)" Life would be a LOT easier if I could use an affordable solution like an OpenScope-WaveForm with two 16-bit sensors at <<1000sps each. Then I read the part about 12-bit 48 channel ADC. Well, I would settle for 12-bit, but I have to ask.. Question: Is it practical to sacrifice bandwidth and <44 channels to achieve some semblance of 16-bit resolution? I appreciate that Digilent should not be expected to cannibalize their commercial offerings in favor of the OpenScope project. I am hoping that EE wizards will find a 2-channel, 16-bit, 1000 sps OpenScope to be of no threat to their productline/market. On the other hand, it would of tremendous help to scientists! 😬 Thanks for your patience, and congratulations on a spectacular Kickstart!
  4. Hi all, I'm looking to use Digilent's Ambient Light Sensor as an add-on for a project I'm doing. I can't use the example code given because I'm using a little bit more complex of a coding environment (Eclipse). I've managed to translate so to speak most of the example code to work for my environment, but one thing I'm struggling with is creating the correct initialization code in my environment. Does anyone have any experience coding the ALS outside of an Arduino-like environment or can tell me what I need to do to initialize it correctly? Thanks!
  5. Hello all, Can anyone help me in Basys 3 project? I am trying to interface Analog Sensor to Basys3 XADC pin. I am trying to use the sample code given wiki basys3. Priority: 1) Where do we change in given code for any specific XADC pin. I could not find any 'pin' definition in behavior code. Why there are some IP code files there? It is not UART though. 2) How to generate PWM for Servo motor?
  6. Hi all, I am a newbie into the world of FPGAs and HDLs. I am currently taking a logic design course where I am required to present a project by the end of this year. I would like to buy either a Basys3 or a Nexys4 board, but I am unsure as to how I could interface any of these boards with other external components, such as sound sensors, servos, (another development board perhaps?), and so on. Please, try not to consider Pmods, as they are somewhat expensive to my budget for now. Your help is greatly appreciated.
  7. Here's a question I have from a customer: I´am using the PMOD TMP3 – Sensor and i want du create a connector for all pins on the board. Are you able to give me a surveying-sheet of the pin distances or the geometrical arrangement? Can anyone help?
