  1. This is the only way I could figure out how to reply without making another question. I am still kinda struggling although I am closer. Everytime I look at a tutorial it always seems like they leave a step out or the file is already created. I think I might be missing something about how this works. Like, is it possible to make it so that when sw0 and sw1 are both switched on that led 1 will turn on? it seems simple enough I just can not figure it out. Sorry for the ignorance I just am having trouble wrapping my head around this.
  2. Hello all, I am trying to program a Basys3 to perform basic logic functions. It seems like it would be really easy to accomplish but I am still a little unclear how to program the board as well as write for Vivado. For example I think that I should be able to, in theory, program the board to be an AND gate by writing a program that looks at switch 0, switch 1, and LED 0. If switch 0 and switch 1 are both switched on LED 1 comes on. It sounds super easy I just have no idea how to write in vivado. Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks Capnfrost
  3. I have already figured out how to do the starting project. I was mostly wondering how to make my own files so that logic functions could be performed using the Basys 3. Maybe something like if switch one and two are both on then LED 3 turns on and so forth. If I can figure out how to do something like that I think that I could figure out the rest.
  4. Hello everyone, I am currently an undergraduate studying Biomedical Engineering. As part of my university's honors program I am required to do a thesis. The mentor I have chosen has tasked me to write lab assignments that use the Basys 3 to use in a class about digital circuits. I know nothing about this piece of technology and due to the relative newness of it I am having trouble finding existing projects that I could use as well as how to write programs for it. He told me that he wanted to use it to implement various logic functions such as AND gates and OR gates. From what I can tell it can be used for these functions but I just have no idea where to start. I know this might seem like very basic information to most of you but I have zero experience with FPGAs and any advice will help. Thanks in advance and can't wait to learn more!
