  1. I know this is an old link, but in case anyone is still interested, i managed to get this working by changing the system-user.dtsi file to /include/ "system-conf.dtsi" / { model = "Zynq Zybo Z7 Development Board"; compatible = "digilent,zynq-zyboz7", "xlnx,zynq-7000"; chosen { bootargs = "console=ttyPS0,115200 earlyprintk uio_pdrv_genirq.of_id=generic-uio"; }; usb_phy0: usb_phy@0 { compatible = "ulpi-phy"; #phy-cells = <0>; reg = <0xe0002000 0x1000>; view-port = <0x0170>; drv-vbus; }; }; &usb0 { dr_mode = "host"; usb-phy = <&usb_phy0>; };
  2. You'd need an Ubuntu or Debian rootfs for that - I managed to get an ubuntu rootfs working with the petalinux kernel, and even got my wifi adapter to work with it. After that apt-get works fine See here
  3. Just as a follow-up to this question, the build time issue is due to a missing global clock buffer on the clock pout of the zynq core - see the design in the Zybo-z7-10-base-linux project for how to fix it by adding a ds_util clock buffer
  4. I would like to get a HDMI Video output working with Petalinux on the Zybo Z7-10, and would appreciate any pointers, links etc. I'm particularly interested in how you get Xilinx DRM working on the Zybo Z7-10. I've seen quite a few posts on the old (VGA) Zybo, and running Xillinux, and also designs using the Xylon video cores. My design will be based on zybo-z7-10-base-linux. Eventually, I'd like to get an Ubuntu installation running Xfce working. Thanks Andy PS I eventually managed to get Lubuntu running on the Zybo - but with remote login (xrdp) instead of via the HDMI port- this has the advantage of not using any extra PL resource Much more difficult was trying to get my WiFi dongle working ...
  5. I'm just in the process of trying this also - just don't forget to copy the Digilent vivado-library files into the /repo folder like I did . I have managed to upgrade the IP cores, but there do seem to be an awful lot of unconnected pins, which is presumably because some of the core pinouts have changed. Unconnected pins seem to be OK, should be connected automatically. I had to change the dvi2rgb core to 720p and the clock constraint on the hdmi input clock of 13.468 ns. Took 3 hours to build though, and still have a load of timing violations.
  6. Hi, I've just joined the forum. I recently bought a Zybo z7-10, but should probably have spent a bit more and bought the z7-20. So far I've managed to get Petalinux booted, and also a command-line version of Ubuntu 16.04 What I'd really like to do is get Ubuntu running with an Xfce desktop I'm primarily interested in the Audio and Video capabilities of the Zybo z7-10 running with Linux Andy
