  1. Hi @cepwin, I was actually referring to Xilinx SDK; it usually comes with the Vivado download unless you specifically exclude it. I don't think you would need Adept SDK in your situation. Thanks, JColvin
  2. Hi @petera, Which project are you attempting to run and which version of Vivado are you using? Thanks, JColvin
  3. Hi @cepwin, This particular demo does utilize some IPs created by Digilent that we would need to upgrade to specific Vivado versions. I believe there is a plan to upgrade all of the Digilent projects in the upcoming months, though I do not know to what version they will be upgraded to. I don't think you need to use HLS specifically, though I would probably recommend using SDK (I didn't create the Pcam project so I don't fully know the intricacies). Thanks, JColvin

    Defective item

Hi @Danh Hoang, That is correct; our sales team, since they are not engineers and the ideal situation for everybody involved is that a simple fix was found for you that requires the minimal amount of time on everybody's part, so we pursue that option first. Since it does appear to be a manufacturing defect, I will now have our sales team contact you through the information you provided me in a PM. Let me know if you have any questions about this. Thanks, JColvin

    JTAG-HS2 program issue

Hi @Chase, Did options I presented work for you in this situation? Thanks, JColvin

    Defective item

Hi @Danh Hoang, I apologize for the delay; the likely case is that the first LED burnt out. Since it looks like you probably purchased it within the warranty range (it'll depend which vendor you purchased it from) and I think you would be able to get it replaced (I'm not part of the sales team so I don't have final say on this). I have sent you a PM with some additional details. Thanks, JColvin
  7. Hi @saibot, Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of resources for using MPLAB with the Pro MX7 board. The Digilent Core (essentially an extra library set of the Arduino IDE) does have some materials for TCP/IP materials for it, though it does not use MPLAB. I am not familiar with Harmony, so I don't have any advice for that end of things. Thanks, JColvin

    Defective item

Hi @Danh Hoang, Did you load any different program into the QSPI memory of the Basys 3 or change GPIO demo that I directed you to at all? Thanks, JColvin
  9. Hi @piccolo, Could you provide a picture of your setup? How are jumpers JP4 and JP5 configured? And out of curiosity, did you press the reset and prog buttons at the same time or at different times? What version of Vivado are you using? Thanks, JColvin
  10. HI @300cpilot, If the port is truly broken and can't be simply bent back into place (I have done this successfully with a few boards that have been damaged this way and been able to communicate with them) and the PCB traces are not damaged, then you might be successful in replacing the micro USB connector itself (some more information on this thread). And to clarify, which port are you referring to on the Nexys Video that was damaged? The "PROG" port (J12) or the "UART" port (J13). Serial traffic will only be available on the UART port. Thanks, JColvin
  11. Hi @Vishnuk, This sounds a bit like a class project, so while I won't be just providing the code, I can try to answer specific questions that you may have. In the mean time, I would recommend taking a look at this thread where the user worked through receiving signals from a UART input to modify the LEDs present on the Basys 3. A quick internet search also brought up a VHDL UART echo project, though it was designed for a different board and probably different UART settings than you want. Thanks, JColvin

    Defective item

Hi @Danh Hoang, To confirm, you are using a Basys 3? Can you provide a picture of your board while it is plugged in and turned on so I can see the setup (in particular jumper JP1)? Presuming you are using the Basys 3, are you able to run the GPIO demo that is available for it? This sets up the hardware so that the first switch (SW0) controls the state of the first LED (LD0). Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, JColvin
  13. Hi @pgmaser, I apologize for the delay. Unfortunately, those of us here at Digilent don't have experience with using Mathworks with the microchip parts, so unfortunately don't have a lot of direct advice for this with regards to programming an controlling the MX370 from MATLAB. Thanks, JColvin

Did you have a question associated with your post @RajD?
  15. I understand. Unfortunately, since we don't actively sell/redistribute the Raspberry Pi or other platforms that uses python as their primary programming method, the people who get to choose what is created for the Pmods and in what format (not me) decided that we would not develop python examples for them. Thank you, JColvin

    Firmware via Android

Hi @Taras, I checked with another one of our engineers and unfortunately, we are not able to provide any of the internals of the Adept library. Thanks, JColvin

    Hi

Hi @AvaTRm, Digilent has a getting started with Vivado guide here as well as a tutorial for an initial project (though it is for Verilog). Otherwise, I would recommend looking at the fpga4fun website and the asic-world website as good resources for beginners. Otherwise, the most complete documentation will from Xilinx such as their own User Guide for Vivado. There isn't a one-stop shop for learning everything about FPGAs as there are a lot of materials any things to learn with FPGAs. The Nexys 4 DDR Resource Center has some materials as well. Thanks, JColvin
  18. Hi @toshas, From my understanding based on both the store page and the reference manual is that the development Pmod compatibility with the HAT adapter is done by RS Components. Thank you, JColvin
  19. Hi @RedskullDC, I have not heard of any development on this, but I will ask again about it. Thanks, JColvin

    USB Power

Hi @Glenn, That is likely the case; the AD2 will require the attached USB cable to support data as well as power, though you can use an external power supply to power the the Analog Discovery 2 instead of the USB cable. Let us know if you have any further questions. Thanks, JColvin
  21. Hi @Luke Abela, You only need to do that if you want to use the built in Xilinx SDK serial terminal. I would recommend using an external serial terminal such as tera term as is suggested in step 14 of the tutorial. Thanks, JColvin
  22. Hi @300cpilot, The warranty as I understand it is a one month time frame (based on the shipping and returns policy on the Digilent website) but if you are an academic customer it might be a bit longer. Unfortunately, we don't perform any repairs for our boards, though depending on what situation is, we may be able to help get your Nexys Video working. Can you provide some more details about what you mean with regards to the UART? Are you able to program your board otherwise? Thanks, JColvin

    JTAG-HS2 program issue

Hi @Chase, Have you tried closing out ISE iMPACT and then re-opening it and/or restarting the computer? Occasionally drivers can get confused about what is connected; I've run into this same issue before and successfully resolved it in that way. As an additional question, have you successfully gotten the downstream Spartan-6 device to be detected before? Do you have Digilent's Adept software open at the same time as iMPACT? If that doesn't work, we can troubleshoot further. Thanks, JColvin
  24. Hi @cmarcelo, What board are you using? Edit: saw you were responded to in your other thread. Thanks, JColvin
  25. Hi @pedro_uno, Depending on your exact end design, I'd probably recommend going for the Pmod BB (a breadboard) or the Pmod TPH2 if you just need test point headers. Thanks, JColvin
