How high? With such low resistor values you will likely encounter excessive heating. Using 100 V input, for example, the dissipation of the 9 kilohm resistor will be 0.9 W (which could let the smoke get out!).
Probably it will work.
A better and safer solution would be using BNC adapter board.
The scope inputs have 1M impedance, the 10x probe adds 9M series resistor and trimmer to match the input capacitance.
