  1. Thank you for your quick response! Am I correct we're talking about the adept SDK? I'm trying to download it now. Thank you again!
  2. It turns out I answered it myself....I was able to finally turn the focus by starting it with the lens cap on...once I started turning it and turned it a bit it slowly focused. I was then able to see images quite well. The key with getting the project to run is not letting it upgrade and simply doing the export and going into the SDK. This leads to another question.....the example seems to rely on custom IP that Digilent provides. Is that correct? If we're writing a new project does that mean the IP has to be updated? Is the best bet to use HLS for any PCAM work?
  3. I finally got the demo app to work but I am only getting light and shadows ...not an image... the screenshots are below. There is no indication of an error but all I get is light passing through. In other words, I can shine a flashlight at the camera and the light appears on the screen but I can't get any sort of image. I've tried adjusting the lens to the point it got screwed off and it never focused on anything. Could the camera be faulty? could the connection be faulty? is there some sort of issue with the code? One thing I should add is that I was able to get the test pattern with the built in app so the HDMI is correctly connected. Please advise Thanks!! Addendum: I realized I had the lens cap on but once I took it off I still could not focus...it is still blurry lights and shadows
  4. I just got a new zybo z7 and I was looking to run petalinux on it. I can't seem to find the 2019.1 bsp file....the best I found was 2015.4 and I know that will not work. Is petalinux still something we run on these boards or do I need to do something else???? Do I need it for the 5c demo (with the camera which is coming next week) , the workshop? The autonomous vehicle project needs the PetaLinux SDK when I reviewed it again. Please advise. Thanks!! Update: I found 2017.4.3 as a BSP

That you Dan! I did a little googling over lunch and realized there's a very simple/stupid reason I'm not getting a signal....I don't have the GPS module....I see Digilent sells one a long with some other sensors/etc. that work with the Arty s7. Those could be fun to play with. I did create a full Microblaze with memory and UART and that appears to be good. I just have to fix the code to use the UART library for that rather than the simple Microblaze that my class example used. What I realized is Vivado will generate the necessary headers based on your design, I also want to thank Jon again for his help as well. I have learned so much working this issue.

I'm running it in a bedroom I use as my "lab". It's on the top floor of my house and the unit is a few feet from a closed window.

It did build....It wasn't getting GPS pings so no output but no errors either. Thank you so much

Thanks! I will have to try downloading over the weekend! I tried generating the bit stream and also tried letting it upgrade the software...I was never able to get it to work. I even tried generating a new project using other examples.

So far no luck with the example. It complains about pins not being attached if I try to build it. I then tried loading the bitstream as it comes in the example and it does the same thing my original one was...it prints out nothing. I'm going to try redoing the example from scratch with the full microblaze to see what happens. I swear it at least initialized the UART once...but now it gets to the CGInit and stops as I described earlier.

Yes, that was the one they suggested in the course. I will try your verified example tonight and let you know...Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you so much! I am using an an Arty S7. I have a file with the constraints that is specific for the board and have been getting my specific constraints from that. I've attached my constraints and screenshots of my block diagram and the HDF summary. Note that the first example we did, which sent simple text from the UART worked fine. The failure came, as I mentioned, when I tried to run CfgInitialize. Interestingly it was able to call Initalize and Start. I downloaded the project so I can see if I can get it to run. My guess is I'll need to modify the constraints, etc. Thank you again!! UART_IO_const.xdc

I've been working with this code and I'm running into an issue. I got to the point where it starts the module but when it tries to run this line: data = XIOModule_CfgInitialize(&iomodule, NULL, 1); it never returns. I have tried increasing the microbaze ram and re-exporting it as well as regenerating the BSP. It's not returning any errors (or more likely I don't know where to look.) Could it be the linker script? I was building this up from the initial hello world. Thanks! lscript.ld
