  1. Dear All, In reference manual of Arty7-35 T, it is mentioned that it is possible to store data along with FPGA program in Quad SPI Flash memory but that approach is out of scope for that document. I have different tables of coefficients(in Excel, Text file) for each pixels where nature of co-efficient is floating point decimal numbers. Total data size is around 2 MB which includes 8 coefficients files At power on, i want to send all this coefficients from FPGA flash to PC via Ethernet. Now I need suggestion, How to store these data in Flash memory along with Main FPGA Program. What should be format for these coefficients files? Is this possible by using just one Flash memory?
  2. Dear All, We are currently working on arty-7 development boards. These boards are in-use at different locations from our area and also outside our LAN. Problem what we are facing is if we need to update .bin file in SPI flash then we have to bring that board from setup area. We need help for how to access the FPGA board from remote location ? Is there any way to access FPGA using Remote server /Remote desktop/ VNC if destination has at-least PC available. Is there any relation with Xilinx Virtual Cable?
  3. Dear Team, We have established Ethernet communication on Arty-7 35 T for FPGA to PC (Transmission) and PC to FPGA (Reception). We have done RTL design without using micro-blaze and On system side we are using Visual studio for sending commands to FPGA using socket programming. We are facing following problems which are given below : FPGA to PC communication works perfectly for any IP address, but When we send command from socket for PC to FPGA communication, Ethernet on FPGA only listen to xxx.xxx.1.255 - broad cast IP. FPGA does not listen to any other value than 255. What could be reason behind this? Another problem we observed related to wire shark. While having Ethernet communication, If we close wire-shark, FPGA stops sending data. We are not able figure the main cause.
  4. Hi, We are designing our custom pcb and taking arty-7 35 for reference. We have purchased JTAG HS2 cable and connected this to J8 connector of arty-7 35T FPGA. We have given power supply using adaptor. We are able to program arty7-35 in vivado hardware manager with both .bin and .bit file by changing jumpers for configuration type. We are following arty-7 programming guide for flash memory configuration. Our doubt is will these steps works if we design our custom PCB with same sets of components? Apart from that is there any dependacy of J8 connector with digilent proprietary USB JTAG circuit?
  5. Dear All, I have worked on Arty-7 and Nexys Video Devlopment board. Each board has PHY from different Vendor RealTek (Nexys Video) and Texas Instruments (Arty7). I have following doubts regarding the same. If my requirement of speed is in between 8 mbps to 30 mbps. What will be effect on Power consumption in case of Realtek PHY and Texas Instruments PHY. Real Tek PHY in Nexys Video works on 125 MHz while Texas Instruments PHY works on 25 MHz. Currently we are using Development board but If i make my board/PCB, does fresh PHY IC required any pre-configuration? I have seen datasheet which shows about some registers configuration. For Functional verification : In case of Realtek PHY, we are sending Tx clock with Data from FPGA MAC while in case of Texas Instruments PHY, Both TX and RX clock coming from PHY itself which sometimes makes Functional verification tricky
  6. FIrst of All Yes, We have requirement of UDP Packets for both Transmit and Receive. Something like I want to send command from PC to FPGA after that it will start sending UDP packets. (For Example: I will send command to start video from PC to FPGA then I will send UDP Packets of Pixels data from FPGA) One more thing is i am looking for is only single point communication between PC to FPGA. No network switches in between (No multi-FPGA or any cluster ) @zygot : It will be great help if you have any example for FPGA Implementation with soft-processor like micro-blaze. Currently I am using Nexys-Video which supports Microblaze. We have implemented Gigabit Tx by @Hamster in verilog and we are able to transmit data and we can visualize all packets on wire sharks. Now, we would like to learn how to communicate from PC to FPGA but not able to find proper examples.
  7. Thank you @jpeyron for support. We would like design custom board similar configuration modes to Arty A7-35 which has only JTAG-USB and SPI Flash Memory.
  8. Currently we are using Nexys Video Development Board which is having many features and peripherals. Now we want to make our custom board with limited peripherals. We would like to use only 2 Configuration modes - JTAG Progamming and Quad-SPI Flash Memory Mode. We are not looking for SD Card and USB Programming mode. In Reference Manual Configuration Diagram, There is one PIC14 Controller available, We have confusion about is requirement? Is it necessary to have if we are not using SD Card and USB Progamming mode? It will be great help if you can direct us in this regard. We are not able to find technical support email address hence we are writing on this email address.
  9. Hello, Jpeyron Yes, I have implemented Gigabit Tx by @Hamster in Both VHDL and Verilog. This is only for transmission from FPGA to PC Can you Help us for Receive part from PC to FPGA? How to begin communication from PC to FPGA. I want to send some commands using UDP from PC to FPGA. It will be great help
  10. Hello All, I am currently working on Nexys Video Ethernet. I want to transmit and recieve UDP packets between PC and Nexys Video FPGA . Is it possible to perform without Microblaze? How to send UDP Packets from PC to FPGA.?
